01

Watch from a distance

Deer, squirrels, songbirds, and other native animals may be seen in the region. Sightings are never guaranteed. Use binoculars or a camera zoom; do not approach nests, dens, or young animals.

02

Remove the invitation

Store food, pet food, coolers, trash, and scented items securely. Clean cooking surfaces after meals and never feed wildlife.

03

Protect the small places

Stay on paths. Leave stream rocks, pond habitat, wildflowers, and fallen wood undisturbed. Never release bait or aquarium animals into water.

04

A quieter evening

Keep voices low and outdoor lights soft and directed down. Keep drones away from birds, roosts, and wildlife. Check for ticks after walks.

05

If an animal approaches

Give it space and a clear escape route. Do not corner or handle it. Report concerning behavior to staff, and seek medical care for bites or potential rabies exposure.
