01

Before lighting

Check current burn restrictions with staff. Use only the designated fire ring. Keep flammable gear, awnings, vehicles, and fuel well away, and have water and a stirring tool ready.

02

Tend with care

Burn seasoned firewood only. Never use gasoline or other accelerants, and do not burn trash or treated wood. Keep the fire manageable and have an adult supervise whenever children or pets are nearby. Never move or create a fire ring.

03

Put it out completely

Douse with water, stir ashes and coals, then repeat until there is no heat, glow, or smoke. Check for heat without placing your hand into potentially hot ash. Never leave a smoldering fire or cover it with dirt alone.

04

Know the property rule

Gathering wood on the property is prohibited. Fires must be extinguished before leaving your site or going to sleep. The campground policies detail fines and enforcement.
